This crown was made for King George V when Prince of Wales, to wear at his fathers coronation in 1901. It was later worn at his coronation by his own son Edward, Prince of Wales, who would become King Edward VIII.
He abdicated in 1936, and took this crown with him into exile. It was returned on his death in 1972.
